Myrtle Tate Elementary School’s blacktop has a fresh new look thanks to a series of colorful and engaging murals designed to spark movement, learning, and school spirit. The project added interactive designs to both the pre-K play area and the back recess space, creating inviting zones for students to explore during their outdoor time.
In the pre-K section, the murals were tailored for the youngest learners, featuring a small 3D hopscotch for early coordination play, a bold and bright tiger paw to show off school pride, and a cheerful caterpillar that spells out the alphabet—turning letter recognition into an active and fun game.
The back recess area received an energetic makeover as well, with a large hopscotch/obstacle course design that challenges students to jump, balance, and race their friends. Multiple walking tracks and hopscotch patterns give kids options for play, while scattered tiger paw prints tie the area back to the school’s mascot.
These new murals don’t just add visual appeal—they create opportunities for active learning, teamwork, and physical activity, all while celebrating Myrtle Tate Elementary’s vibrant school community.
