  • In just four days, Jo Mackey ILead Academy for the Digital Sciences has been transformed with over 1,500 square feet of bold, inspiring murals curated by Graffiti Park. Rooted in the Ron Clark Academy educational model, the school organizes students into six “families” inspired by the house system of Harry Potter—Skapari, Risi, Nakija, Buscador, Kaiwero, and Motisha. Each family is now proudly represented in vibrant pennant-style murals above the school’s main staircase, reinforcing school spirit and a sense of belonging.

Upstairs, another mural series highlights the school’s commitment to leadership through the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Each habit—from “Be Proactive” to “Sharpen the Saw”—is depicted with bold lettering and dynamic visuals, serving as a daily reminder of the values the school instills.

Other standout pieces include a cheerful cartoon mountain lion, the school mascot, rocking a JMA letterman jacket with the phrase “JMA ALL DAY,” a digitized mural that reads “Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs,” and a futuristic robotic mountain lion mural celebrating the school’s robotics program, emblazoned with the words: “Empower, Create, Innovate, Lead.”

Together, the murals visually reflect Jo Mackey’s mission to inspire leadership, creativity, and community in every student.
